Tom Sawyer by Rush is one of the most amazing songs ever written. America has certainly put out its fair share of iconic rock bands, but Canada has done its part too. Rush is a perfect example of a Canadian rock band that would go on to become one of the most famous bands in the world. Since being founded in 1968, Rush has been awarded 24 gold, 14 platinum, and 3 multi-platinum albums containing such hits as “Tom Sawyer” and “Limelight.”
While the band officially announced its disbandment in 2018, Rush’s music still remains as popular as ever.
After 50 years in the spotlight, the members of Rush live a much calmer lifestyle today. For example, at the end of September 2020, frontman Geddy Lee donated from his extensive wine collection to an auction for Toronto frontline workers hosted by Grapes for Humanity. Equally as impressive about this as Lee’s donation is his commitment to Toronto, Canada–where he and the rest of the members of Rush got their start.
We can all take a page out of Rush’s book on learning how to use the success we’ve accumulated for ourselves to give back to those in need.
